Target Audience: This course would be suitable for NHS/academic research staff, who would like to develop their skill and confidence in implementing quality control checks, in order to ensure the accuracy of the data and patient safety

Aims & Objectives:

  • To understand the importance of accurate data collection
  • To understand the consequences of poor data collection
  • To gain an understanding of source documents and their value
  • To review the types of data quality checks that can be employed to ensure the accuracy and validity of research data

Course Summary: By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Define the purpose and discuss the benefits of performing quality control checks on research data
  • Implement strategies to ensure compliance with the appropriate regulations  and research protocol
  • Put into practice techniques to ensure that the data and essential documents are accurate
  • Employ checks to ensure patient safety
