Dr Wendy Walker is a Reader in Acute and Critical Care Nursing at the University of Wolverhampton. Wendy formerly practised as a Registered Nurse, and specialised in the field of adult intensive care. She has a research interest in end-of-life care and bereavement in the context of a life-threatening illness or event. Her current role in higher education includes the supervision and examination of doctoral students’ research. Wendy enjoys writing for publication and has published widely. She is a peer-reviewer of manuscripts, and believes this privileged role has helped her to become a better writer. In 2017, Wendy was appointed as an Editorial Intern with the journal Nursing in Critical Care. This programme of mentored learning has provided invaluable experiential insights into the exciting world of publishing.
